This versatile central module manages unlimited media objects (as files stored on SAN or Cloud) and their associated structures and metadata (on an SQL database).

MediaCore adheres to the guidelines provided by the Metadata Working Group (MWG) to ensure metadata consistency and preservation and allows different metadata templates to be defined for different asset types and classes.
It incorporates a powerful search engine with advanced features including fuzzy matching and language stemming, enabling users (staff, clients or public) to locate assets quickly and accurately. It supports both simple and advanced search interfaces accommodating all levels of users. A flexible transformation module automates the repurposing of media files into new formats, sizes, resolutions, and other operations, such as adding watermarks.
The sophisticated Access Control allows the creation of multiple divisions within an organisation and establish corresponding user groups. These user groups can have a restricted set of administration functions and a unique set of privileges. This privilege set define the functions that users can perform on assets within that division. MediaCore allows the set-up of several different classes of end user, each with a range of access rights, from the public who normally have limited access, to privileged workflow users such as clients who can view virtual contact sheets, annotate instructions and approve releases.
The combination of the two core modules - Archiving & Curation and Asset Capture & Routing - fulfils the essential requirements of a central Picture Desk system.
